Our crane hook production begins with EN24 or C45 billet sourced from approved Indian steel mills with mill test certificates. The billet is heated to forging temperature, closed-die forged to the IS 3815 blank shape, trimmed, and then normalized or quench-and-tempered depending on the capacity and material specification. The machined hook undergoes 100% magnetic particle testing by Level-II NDT personnel, proof-load testing at 2x WLL on calibrated hydraulic testing machines, and dimensional verification before the IS 3815 marking is stamped and the component is released with a full documentation package. This is the level of rigor that crane manufacturers and plant engineering departments expect — and that Shivam Forge has been consistently delivering for two decades.
Beyond crane hooks, our lifting equipment forging portfolio covers the full range of overhead crane structural and mechanical components. Crane traversing wheels in C45 with induction-hardened treads and flanges (50–58 HRC) are produced to CMAA specifications in diameters from 125 mm to 710 mm. Pulley sheaves with precision-machined rope grooves for 6 mm to 60 mm wire rope diameters are produced in C45 and EN24. End carriage pins, equalizing beam pivots, and hoist drum trunnion shafts in EN24 and 42CrMo4 are produced with full NDT inspection. Each of these components can be supplied as rough forging, heat-treated blank, or fully machined finished component depending on the customer's manufacturing process.
Export customers for crane forgings — particularly in the UK, Germany, and UAE — demand documentation that aligns with EN and ISO standards. We routinely supply EN 10204 3.1 material test certificates, proof-load test records, MPT and UT inspection reports, and dimensional inspection certificates in English, enabling our customers to maintain ISO 9001 audit trails and comply with Machinery Directive or LOLER (UK) requirements for lifting equipment traceability.
