Titanium forgings deliver the specific strength of high-alloy steel at 40% less weight — a tradeoff no other structural metal matches. Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5) is the workhorse of aerospace and medical forging, while commercially pure Grade 2 and 4 handle corrosive chemical plant service where neither stainless steel nor nickel alloys are cost-effective. The most widely used titanium alloy worldwide. Alpha-beta alloy with tensile strength 895–1000 MPa and excellent fatigue properties. Forged at 870–980°C — strictly below the 995°C beta transus — to retain a fine alpha-beta microstructure. Primary material for aerospace structural brackets, bulkheads and medical implant blanks.
Near-alpha alloy offering a balance between the formability of pure titanium and the strength of Ti-6Al-4V. Used for hydraulic tubing forgings, bicycle components and medical instruments. Forged at 800–950°C with controlled post-forge cooling to achieve uniform microstructure.
Commercially pure Grade 2 is the most common CP titanium for industrial corrosion-resistant applications. Forged flanges, valve bodies and heat exchanger components for chemical plant service involving chlorine, nitric acid and seawater. Excellent weldability and formability.
Highest-strength commercially pure titanium grade with 550 MPa minimum UTS. Forged pump casings, pressure vessel nozzles and reactor internals for aggressive chemical service where Grade 2 yield strength is marginal. Full ASTM B348 bar certification available.
Extra Low Interstitial variant of Grade 5 with reduced oxygen and iron content for improved fracture toughness and fatigue crack growth resistance. Used for medical implant blanks — orthopaedic bone plates, spinal cages and trauma screws — where biocompatibility and ductility are paramount.
Near-alpha alloy with superior creep resistance at elevated temperatures to 480°C. Forged compressor disc blanks and gas turbine structural components where Ti-6Al-4V creep properties are insufficient for the service temperature.
Ti-6Al-4V forged structural brackets, rib fittings, wing attachment lugs and pressure bulkhead segments manufactured to AMS 4928. Grain flow aligned to principal load paths for maximum fatigue life. Full dimensional inspection to customer CAD model before despatch.
Ti-6Al-4V ELI (Grade 23) forged near-net blanks for orthopaedic plates, femoral stems and spinal fusion cages. Forging produces a refined grain structure that machined bar cannot replicate, improving fatigue life in load-bearing implant applications. ASTM F136 material compliance.
CP Grade 2 and Grade 4 forged flanges, valve bodies, pump casings and agitator hubs for chemical reactors handling chlorine, wet HCl, nitric acid and seawater cooling circuits. Titanium's immunity to chloride pitting makes it the correct material where 316L stainless fails.
Ti-6Al-4V and Grade 2 forged bolts, studs, nuts and structural brackets for naval vessels, offshore platforms and desalination plant. Titanium fasteners resist biofouling and galvanic corrosion in seawater far longer than stainless steel grades.
Ti-3Al-2.5V (Grade 9) forged manifold blocks and fitting bodies for aircraft hydraulic systems where weight reduction per kilogram of aircraft structure carries a mission-critical premium. Pressure-tested to customer requirements after forging.
Ti-6Al-4V forged connecting rod blanks, suspension uprights and brake caliper bodies for Formula racing and high-performance automotive applications. Specific strength advantage over steel reduces unsprung and reciprocating mass.
Titanium oxidises aggressively above 600°C. Our controlled-atmosphere induction heating and transfer process minimises alpha case (oxygen-enriched surface layer), which must otherwise be removed by deep machining, wasting expensive titanium billet.
We use glass-based die lubricants for titanium forging — the same technology used by aerospace prime contractors. Glass lubricants provide thermal insulation to the die, reduce titanium sticking and produce superior surface finish on forging faces.
All Ti-6Al-4V forgings are annealed at 700–790°C per AMS 4928 requirements after forging to relieve residual stress and stabilise microstructure. We issue heat treatment records with each shipment.
Titanium forgings for aerospace and critical applications are ultrasonically inspected per AMS 2631 to detect internal defects including porosity, inclusions and forging laps. Full UT reports provided on request.

We forge Ti-6Al-4V Grade 5 (AMS 4928), Ti-6Al-4V ELI Grade 23 (AMS 4930), Ti-3Al-2.5V Grade 9, CP Grade 2 and CP Grade 4. Speciality grades such as Ti-6Al-2Sn-4Zr-2Mo are available on request for aerospace compressor applications.
Ti-6Al-4V is forged at 870–980°C, which is below the beta transus temperature of approximately 995°C. Forging below the beta transus retains the desirable alpha-beta microstructure and prevents grain coarsening that occurs in the single-phase beta field. Exceeding the beta transus produces a coarser Widmanstätten structure with inferior fatigue properties.
Ti-6Al-4V has approximately the same tensile strength as 316L stainless steel but at 40% lower density — 4.43 g/cm³ versus 8.0 g/cm³. This means a titanium forging delivers the same structural capacity at 40% of the weight, which is the primary reason aerospace and motorsport applications specify titanium despite its higher raw material cost.
Yes. We produce Ti-6Al-4V ELI (Grade 23) forged blanks for orthopaedic and spinal implants to ASTM F136. Material certificates confirming ELI chemistry (reduced O, Fe, N, C limits) and mechanical properties are provided. Customers perform subsequent machining, surface finishing and biocompatibility testing to their own specifications.
Our titanium forgings are produced to AMS 4928 (Ti-6Al-4V), AMS 4930 (Ti-6Al-4V ELI), ASTM B265/B348 and ASTM F136 for medical applications. AMS 2631 UT inspection is performed for aerospace-grade forgings.
Alpha case is an oxygen-enriched, brittle surface layer that forms on titanium when it is heated in air above 600°C. We use controlled-atmosphere furnace heating and rapid transfer to minimise alpha case depth. The affected surface layer can also be chemically milled or machined away before final inspection.
